Terms of service

Last updated 2026. Plain English, on purpose.

The service

Ticketz gives organisers an event page, a dashboard and a door app to sell and check tickets. We provide the software; you run your events. We are not a party to the sale between you and your buyer, and we are not the promoter, venue or seller of any event.

Your account

Keep your password safe and only give staff logins to people who work for you. You are responsible for what is done under your account and for the accuracy of what you publish about your events. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has access.

Payments and payouts

Card payments are taken by Stripe through a Stripe account in your name, which you connect from your dashboard and which is subject to Stripe's own terms. Ticket money is paid by Stripe into your account and then to your bank; we never hold it. Our fee is taken automatically from each paid ticket at the rate shown on the pricing page for your plan (or a rate we agree with you in writing), and is refunded in proportion when you refund a ticket. Stripe's card processing fee is yours and is separate from ours. You are responsible for any tax on your ticket sales.

Refunds are your responsibility

You set the refund policy for each event and it is shown to buyers before they pay. You must honour it. If a buyer is entitled to a refund under your policy, under consumer law, or because you cancelled or materially changed the event, you must refund them promptly, using the refund tools in your dashboard. Refunds come from your Stripe balance. If your balance cannot cover a refund, Stripe may recover it from your bank account under its terms.

If you cancel or change an event

If you cancel an event you must refund every paid ticket in full; the dashboard can do this in one step and email everyone for you. If you move the date, time or venue, buyers must be told (the dashboard emails them) and given a refund if they can no longer attend. Disputes and chargebacks raised by your buyers are yours to answer, and the platform fee is not refunded on a chargeback.

Plans and payment

The free plan is for free events and is limited as described on the pricing page. Pay as you go has no monthly fee and charges the per ticket fee shown on the pricing page. Standard and Pro are paid monthly or yearly in advance through PayPal and renew automatically unless you cancel the renewal first from your dashboard. We may change prices and fees for the next term with at least 30 days' notice by email.

Fair use

Do not use the service to sell tickets for events you do not intend to run, to sell anything unlawful, to send spam, or to collect buyer data for anything other than running your event. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service, put buyers at risk, or attract repeated disputes.

Availability

We aim for the service to be available all the time but cannot promise it. We will tell you about planned maintenance where we can. If the service is down and you lose a sale, we are sorry, but our liability is limited to the fees you have paid us in the last three months.

Your data

Your events, orders and settings are yours. You can export them from the dashboard or ask us to delete them. You are the controller of your buyers' data and must handle it lawfully; we process it on your behalf. See the privacy policy.

Buyers

If you buy a ticket through a Ticketz page, your contract is with the organiser named on the event page, not with us. The organiser's refund policy shown at checkout applies, along with your legal rights. Tickets are personal to the order, each QR code admits once, and tickets must not be resold or transferred for profit; the organiser can refuse entry or cancel a ticket it believes has been resold. Please contact the organiser first with any question about the event; contact us if something about the service itself has gone wrong.

Changes and law

We may update these terms and will post the new version here. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
